Job description

Are you immediately available and looking for a fast paced Financial Accountant position?

Reporting to the Financial Controller you will work closely with other members of the Finance team providing timely and accurate management information with full adherence to statutory requirements and obligations.

You will take ownership of all transaction processing within the company, implementing new control processes as necessary. You will be responsible for the year end audit and liaising with the external auditors. You may also be required to work with other key stakeholders on the senior management team on an ad hoc basis.

The ideal candidate:

Ideally you are a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong data analysis skills, and a keenness to learn and improve your knowledge in this area. You are adaptable and take on new challenges, both anticipated and unexpected. You are a great communicator and excellent at relationship building and team working. Experience of working with an ERP system in a manufacturing environment is desirable.

Dutes will include:

  • Preparation of monthly accounts in conjunction with the finance team
  • Assist the Financial Controller with the coordination of the annual audit to enable timely presentation of annual financial results, liaise with auditors and provide relevant reports .
  • Liaise with department heads in the preparation of annual budgets and presentation of monthly reports against budget.
  • Quarterly VAT return reconciliation and submission
  • Assist in the preparation of information to support the finalisation of Corporation tax returns for both the UK and US, including the annual R&D
  • Provide assistance for payroll preparation.
  • Provide cover for credit control, reviewing new customers and ensuring prompt payments. Review customers on a weekly basis and report to production weekly.

Skills and experience will include:

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA fully qualified
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating confidence and the ability to interact professionally with people at all levels of seniority.
  • Excellent data analysis skills.
  • Strong prioritisation, problem solving and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of an ERP system in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent Excel skills and a good working knowledge of MS-Office 365 applications.
