Are you a skilled Toolmaker seeking an opportunity to excel in a dynamic and innovative environment? We are looking for a dedicated professional to play a vital role in maintaining and repairing plastic injection moulds and tooling, ensuring production efficiency and supporting business objectives.

Toolmaker Role:

As a Toolmaker, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing tools ranging from 500kg to 10.3T, modifying tooling as required, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency. You'll play an active role in continuous improvement projects and be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain production tools to meet production deadlines.
  • Modify tooling in response to business and customer needs.
  • Test and confirm electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic operations of tools.
  • Record all relevant tooling data in the Toolroom database.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Implement best practice principles in tool maintenance to improve operational and financial performance.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize processes and reduce waste.
  • Ensure all Health & Safety standards are met and escalate any risks or incidents.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Hot Runner Systems (e.g., Mould Masters, HRS).
  • Certified welding skills and safe use of power tools (e.g., abrasive wheels).
  • Excellent bench hand skills, including polishing to a 3-micron mirror finish.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Apprentice-served Toolmaker with a minimum of 5 years' experience in injection mould tooling.
  • BTEC/HNC in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
  • Previous experience in automotive or manufacturing environments with knowledge of toolroom processes (preferred).
  • Proficient in IT systems, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
