Logistics Operative- Kidderminster

Our client is seeking a Logistics Operative to join their team on a Temp to Perm basis. The role of the Logistics Operative is focused around working with both inert and energetic material stores on a day-to-day basis. Control of goods received and management of all outbound materials according to daily, weekly and or monthly schedules is essential. Working closely with the Materials Planning Logistics team, Cell Management, and other functional department leads to ensure all goods and materials are delivered to the right place at the right time.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a consistent approach and time management skills. Key to this role is accepting and rejecting deliveries throughout site and you will need to be able to work to a high level of accuracy, with attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with logistics and warehousing in co-ordinating the receipt, storage, and timely delivery of goods and materials across site.
  • Ensure site inventory levels are suitably maintained.
  • Effectively communicate with all departments to keep them fully informed of the movement of goods and materials across site.
  • Monitor all kitting documents and ensure compliance to the operational plan.
  • Load and unload delivery vehicles, by hand or with a forklift truck.
  • Check for damaged or missing items, to then sort stock for storage in the warehouse.
  • Take goods to the appropriate storage space.
  • Keep a careful record of stock on the warehouse management system, so that it can be located quickly.
  • Operate a forklift truck to move and rearrange stock and ensure that products are stored safely (especially chemicals and energetic material) and labelled correctly.
  • Kit orders from the storage space and bring them to the kitting bay for transportation as required.
  • Ensure orders are packaged and labelled correctly to prevent returned orders or damaged goods.
  • Organise transfers and load goods on to delivery vehicles.
  • Ensure Health and Safety standards are upheld and communicated throughout the site.
  • Additional responsibilities and projects as requested by the business.
  • Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) are accurately adhered to ensuring data accuracy at all times.
  • Any other reasonable requests.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Forklift truck Licence- Counterbalance

EXPERIENCE:

  • Have at least 2 years working experience within a manufacturing / warehouse.
  • IT competencies with experience of working with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word and Outlook.

This role is working to factory hours Monday - Thursday 7.30-3.30, Friday 7.30-2.30.
