Job Description

Our client is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical bias, electrical knowledge, and experience in troubleshooting and maintaining industrial equipment. Reporting to and supporting the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning of machinery and facilities to minimize downtime and improve overall efficiency within our warehouse. This role offers the opportunity to develop and succeed the current Maintenance Manager.

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment, machinery, and premises. Conduct regular inspections of machinery and facilities to identify and address potential issues. Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions inmechanical and electrical systems.
  • Repair and Replacement: Execute repairs or replace faulty equipment, machinery, or systems promptly. Collaborate with the production team to source and ensure the availability of spare parts to maintain continuity of operations.
  • Facility Maintenance: Monitor and maintain the overall condition of the facility. Address issues related to plumbing, HVAC, lighting, grounds, and site appearance. Coordinate with external service providers for specialized maintenance tasks.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols while performing maintenance tasks. Identify potential safety hazards and take corrective actions.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and time spent. Generate reports on equipment status and maintenance.

Maintenance Technician Qualifications:

  • Qualified to NVQ/apprenticeship level or equivalent within the relevant field; additional technical training or certifications are an advantage
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with industrial equipment and systems (nice to have)
  • Confidence to respond positively under pressure
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to take initiative as required
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to work in compliance with safety regulations
