Quality Engineer

Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire

£36,000 - £38,000

Our client is a renowned provider of precision components and engineering solutions, serving the aerospace, defence, oil and gas, nuclear, and commercial bronze sectors.

Quality Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the QHSE Manager to lead quality improvement initiatives
  • Participate in the NPI process to ensure all quality requirements are understood and implemented
  • Generate and maintain QA documentation
  • Conduct and support third-party supplier audits
  • Utilise quality tools and techniques to drive continuous improvement

Quality Engineer Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in quality tools and techniques such as RCA (Root Cause Analysis), PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act), R&R (Repeatability & Reproducibility), SPC (Statistical Process Control), and 8D (Eight Disciplines Problem Solving)
  • Comprehensive understanding of the NPI process and ability to handle its quality elements
  • Competence in reading and interpreting manufacturing drawings, including geometric tolerances
  • Ability to create quality assurance documentation such as FAIR (First Article Inspection Report), ITP (Inspection Test Plan), and Quality Plans
  • Preferably skilled in CMM programming (using Aberlink software)
  • Working knowledge of PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum HNC in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering
  • External Auditor training
  • LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt certification
