Quality Engineer
Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire
£36,000 - £38,000
Our client is a renowned provider of precision components and engineering solutions, serving the aerospace, defence, oil and gas, nuclear, and commercial bronze sectors.
Quality Engineer Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the QHSE Manager to lead quality improvement initiatives
- Participate in the NPI process to ensure all quality requirements are understood and implemented
- Generate and maintain QA documentation
- Conduct and support third-party supplier audits
- Utilise quality tools and techniques to drive continuous improvement
Quality Engineer Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in quality tools and techniques such as RCA (Root Cause Analysis), PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act), R&R (Repeatability & Reproducibility), SPC (Statistical Process Control), and 8D (Eight Disciplines Problem Solving)
- Comprehensive understanding of the NPI process and ability to handle its quality elements
- Competence in reading and interpreting manufacturing drawings, including geometric tolerances
- Ability to create quality assurance documentation such as FAIR (First Article Inspection Report), ITP (Inspection Test Plan), and Quality Plans
- Preferably skilled in CMM programming (using Aberlink software)
- Working knowledge of PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
Qualifications:
- Minimum HNC in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering
- External Auditor training
- LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt certification
