Job description
Job Overview:
Our client are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to support the Finance Manager. This role involves a range of accounting, bookkeeping, and financial tasks designed to ensure smooth financial operations and support the company's financial goals.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
- Review, verify, and process invoices for accuracy and completeness
- Code and post invoices to the ledgers, ensuring timely processing
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain and update supplier account information
Accounts Receivable:
- Manage accounts receivable, including issuing invoices and following up on outstanding payments
- Resolve any discrepancies or issues with payments
- Maintain and update customer account information
Expense Reporting:
- Process and manage employee expense claims, ensuring compliance with company policies
Payroll Assistance & Financial Reporting:
- Assist with payroll processing as required
- Support the preparation of financial reports
Audit Support & Administrative Tasks:
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation
- Perform general office duties such as filing, answering phone calls, and managing correspondence
Experience/Skills Required:
- Proven experience in a Finance Assistant or similar role
- Strong understanding of office software (MS Office) and accounting software, ideally Sage 50
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
- Proficiency in handling sensitive information and managing business correspondence
Working Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 08:00 - 17:00 (with a half-hour unpaid lunch break)
- Friday: 08:00 - 14:00
