Job description

Finance Assistant

To support the company in managing day-to-day financial operations. This includes assisting with various financial processes and administrative tasks within the finance department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchase Ledger: Verify purchase invoices, reconcile delivery notes, and ensure alignment with purchase orders.

  • Invoice Query Resolution: Address and resolve any discrepancies or queries related to invoices in a prompt and effective manner.

  • Sales Ledger: Oversee the management of the Sales Ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Credit Control: Monitor and ensure timely payments from clients/customers.

  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform accurate and timely bank reconciliations to ensure financial records are up to date.

  • Payment Schedules: Prepare weekly payment schedules and compile payment lists for processing.

  • Payroll Admin: Assist with payroll preparation tasks as required by the Managers

  • Finance Queries: Manage internal and external finance queries through telephone and email communication.

  • Finance Inbox Management: Take ownership of the finance inbox to ensure all queries are addressed promptly and efficiently.

The ideal candidate is driven, focused, and committed to developing efficient working practices. You should have a strong interest in adopting new technologies and tools to improve processes within the finance team.

Qualifications / Experience Required:

  • Proficiency with Sage software is essential.

  • Previous experience in a finance-related role is required.

  • Bookkeeping experience is necessary.

  • Credit Control experience is preferred but not essential.

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel is essential.

This is a standalone position based fully onsite with support from external accountants and line managers.

Full time hours Mon to Thur - 8am -5pm, Fri 8am - 3pm (some flexibility offered)
